The War of Art
by Philip Blackpeat
Washington lawyer Philip Melanchthon is like
all other attorneys—he can’t say no to a
prospective new client. Thus begins his
association with the affluent art collector Mr.
X, who has hired Melanchthon to find out why
a Picasso picture in his collection has been
vandalized.
Someone did not want anyone to see the
beautiful face of a dead French equestrian,
lovingly painted by the master. Could there
possibly be some sort of connection
between Picasso and the war in Iraq?
Melanchthon sets out to find out, aided by his
brilliant associate Paul and by a mysterious,
anonymous correspondent. Art, war, and
stunning women are laid bare before
Melanchthon’s eyes. The truth he uncovers
is sinister—but the truth he does not grasp
may be more sinister still.
Author Philip Blackpeat provides a tantalizing
mix of political conspiracy, legal thriller, and
art mystery in The War of Art.
